This week the children have been learning about the world and have enjoyed being explorers. We enjoyed looking at where we have been on holiday and spent time making our own treasure maps. We have also been looking at what different countries are like and how they are similar and different from here.
This week the children have been busy writing letters to Santa. We have thought about what we want for Christmas and what a good letter looks like. We even had a very special visitor sneak into our class and deliver us our own letter! A very exciting week.
This week the children have been thinking about how we are all unique and different. On Monday we came to school wearing odd socks. We talked about how that made us feel and what types of things can make us unique. We then learnt the chorus of a Cbeebies song about how it is good to be us.
We have been very busy this week in RE looking at bonfire night and how to stay safe during the weekend. We had our own fire pit and the children learnt some fire safety rules. We have also been looking at the story Pumpkin Soup. We went into the cafe and made our own yummy soup. The children said it was scrumptious! And finally, we enjoyed our first story cafe where we looked at the story Kitchen Disco and invited our family in to join in with some of our exciting activities. What a busy week.
This week in Reception we have been looking at Diwali. We had a Diwali celebration day on Friday. We had lots of fun trying some Indian food, having a go at Bollywood dancing and making our own Diva lamps. The children now know the story of Rama and Sita. Why don’t you ask them what happened and how Rama and Sita found their way home?
Have a fantastic half term and great ready for some pumpkin fun the first week back.
The children in RE have enjoyed looking at the Police this week and learning about how they help us. We got a very special visit today from some local Policemen who showed us around their van and talked to us about what they do.
This week our class have really enjoyed looking at the book You Choose by Nick Sharratt. The children have been talking about what they want to be when they grow up and the jobs that involve helping others. We talked about how the police help us and decided to turn the role play area into a police station and car so we could role play helping our friends. What a busy week.
This week children in Miss Edwards class have enjoyed learning all about our value kindness. We created a beautiful kindness tree in our classroom by going into the wood to collect sticks. Children have then been making a heart and writing what someone has done to be kind to them inside. Some Mummy’s and Daddy’s even got a heart on the tree! What a lovely week.
